| Norvasc (Amlodipind besylate) is prescribed to treat hypertension, chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina, and coronary artery disease. It reduces blood pressure by blocking the calcium channels on vascular smooth muscle to promote a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance. Lowering of hypertension lowers the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney complications. Norvasc is an oral medication usually once daily with or without food, or as directed by your doctor. |
